Billy Bowlegs Pirate Festival in Fort Walton Beach, FL
Every year, thousands of area residents and visitors come together to enjoy the fun and antics of the annual Billy Bowlegs Pirate Festival in Fort Walton Beach. Voted a Top 20 Festival in the Southeast and featured in this year’s “Southern Living Magazine”, this festival has captured the hearts and minds of young and old alike by providing good ole fashioned fun for the whole family.
The festival begins at The Landing on Thursday, May 31st at 6 p.m. and continues until 10 p.m. The Torchlight Parade starts at 7:00 p.m. that evening in downtown Fort Walton and ends up at The Landing around 8:30 p.m. The festival reopens on Friday starting at 3:00 p.m. and ends at 10:00 p.m. with a fireworks display. Captain Billy and his Krewe will arrive by sea on Friday to “scout” The Landing. On Saturday, the fun resumes at 12 noon and Captain Billy and his Krewe return to implement their dastardly plans to take over the City from Mayor Mike Anderson and his militia. The festival concludes on Saturday night at 10:00 p.m. with another fireworks display.
