The Red, White, and Blue Celebration at HarborWalk Village located on the Destin Harbor, is a honoring of a local hero at 7 P.M each Thursday following Memorial Day until Labor Day. Each week the celebration will highlight the efforts of people who go above and beyond to make their community better. Local entertainment and a WWII replica flyover begin at 7:20 P.M. A spectacular fireworks show displays over the Destin Harbor at 8 P.M. Children's crafts and fun from 6:30-8 P.M.

This seasonal exhibit offers the opportunity to observe native butterfly species in all stages of their life cycles in addition to viewing their host and nectar plants. This year, other types of insects will be on display. Open seasonally from 10am to 3pm, Thursday through Saturday, through Labor Day.

Red Cross Run for the Red, White, & Blue 5K

This scenic course is a flat, down and back starting at Fort Walton Beach Landing and travels along the Choctawhatchee Bay. Please register before 8/26/11. Participants can pick up their race packet at Fudpuckers on Okaloosa Island (on Santa Rosa Blvd) on 8/26/11 from 5pm-9pm. Proceeds benefit the Red Cross of Northwest Florida supporting Eglin AFB, Hurlburt Field and the entire Okaloosa County Community. The Magnolia Grill will host the Post Race Party and Awards Ceremony (plenty of door prizes will be given out). The Children's Fun Run will be a 1-mile run and it is free.
