Condo Features: This beautiful gulf view unit is located on the fourth floor. This unit is painted in bright yellow and green. The kitchen is fully equipped with a microwave, refrigerator, stove, and dishwasher, along with all the dishes, pots and utensils needed to prepare and serve meals. Also, have a table and four chairs. The bathroom has a tub, sink and vanity. Have a queen size bed with dark brown furniture. Also has a TV, DVD player, CD stereo system, VCR and free internet access.
Resort Features: The Islander Beach Resort is located on beautiful Okaloosa Island overlooking the Gulf of Mexico. The seven-story building features an 80-foot beach side pool (heated seasonally), a shuffleboard court, a gym and a grilling area. Offers a meeting room perfect for wedding receptions and other activities. 06/15/2010 -- Not much to complain about other than when we arrived the check in office was closed. The hours of operation listed on the door said Mon-Sun 9-5. We arrived at 3pm on Friday and the office was closed. -- Julie L.
Issues with inside the condo
12/15/2009 -- I liked that the condo was on the beach and that we had a beachfront view. I was unaware no one would be there the night we checked in. The key and paperwork were left outside the office in a lock box. I don't know if that is the way things are done now but I didn't like the fact that no one was there in case there was a problem. I did have issues with the inside of the condo. I felt like the place was dirty so I didn't sleep in the bed at all. I sat on the couch most of the night and slept sitting up. Luckily we didn't do much during the day because I was tired from lack of sleep. I saw a huge bug (about 3 inches) crawl across the floor so I had to hurry and pick up our belongings before those were invaded. That was on the first night so that is why I felt I couldn't sleep well. We actually left one night early because I couldn't stay in the condo any longer. So we payed for one night and lost it. -- Kristie C.

Come if you want a mediocre vacation!
12/09/2009 -- Overall, the experience was mediocre, and had some issues. The first day, the temperature was extremely hot and when I informed guest services, they stated that there was nothing they could do. Also, there was construction going on in the condo next to us during our whole visit. We complained and they said there was nothing they could do. When we went to checkout at 9:45, the cleaning service opened the door and stated \you guys aren't out yet\". Then they proceeded to stand outside our room and wait until we left and immediately went in after us. Obviously

Great place to stay

Good Location, Affordable Price
12/09/2009 -- Ft Walton is away from the hustle and bustle that Destin has become, but the beach is just as nice. The studio I rented had a great view of the beach, and it was very affordable. The only complaint I had was that we had to use a coin operated washer and dryer, but they were located just outside the door to our unit.
